Coolant leak

210,000 miles, automatic.

I have a terrible coolant leak. When I give it quite a bit of gas, I can see fluid spitting out of somewhere around the engine. I thought it was a hose at first, but now I can tell it is coming from somewhere in around the engine. It is not around the water pump either. I am unable to see exactly where it is. I have to take the alternator off to actually see it. There is a gap that looks like it goes into the engine a little ways, and it appears to becoming from somewhere in there. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you are saying it is leaking from the space around were the block and head come together? If so it is ahead gasket, if it is higher, may be the intake gasket. Do a pressure test and you will know for sure.

Also, check the intake and return pipes coming into and out of water pump. They are plastic. New ones will be aluminum.
