2002 Buick Regal Service engine light.

Service engine light came on about 3 days after pumping gas. I visited my nearest AutoZone, and it read defective catalytic converter (which was replaced about 3weeks ago with a brand new catalytic converter). Then the service engine light just goes off a few days later, after I pumped gas again. WHAT THE.
(PLEASE HELP, I'M A TAD BIT CONFUSED)

The code was probably "catalyst effeciency below threshold" which does not necessarly mean convertor is bad.

Could be downstream O2 sensor, or some bad gasoline.

Have garage look at O2 sensor output before doing anything else.
