2001 Buick Regal oil leak

I recently bought a 2001 Buick Regal with a 3.8 Liter
engine. I've noticed a few drops of oil on my garage
floor. They are dripping out of the front engine
mount support bracket. I suspect either the front of
the oil pan or the front crank shaft seal. Either job
looks like a real bear. Is this something a weekend
mechanic could handle? It looks like it will require
some pretty specialized tools. (Engine support
bracket, transaxel jack, harmonic balancer clamps)

Hi
easy. The only thing special you would need is a balancer puller, I would get some gunk and hose the engine down and spray it off woth a graden hose with no nozzle to find the leak, it might be the timing cover or the oil pan but find the leak and we will lead the way, it takes less tha a day for a timing cover for an inexperienced guy,

check the lower intake gaskets at all four corners and check the upper intake helmet for leaks and let me know

thanks
jim

It is also possible the liquid filled engine mount is leaking. This can shift the engine and I had one where the A/C pulley cut the secondary air pump hose.
