My father sent me his car from California, as a birthday present. The day i got it I got it inspected, everything was great. 5 minutes after pulling off the lot the service engine soon light came on along with the service vehicle soon light. I drove it for about a day then all of a sudden it would randomly stall out, when ever i slowed to stop for a turn or red light. I looked though the maintenance record and everything was up to date. (my dad is very thorough with maintaining his belongings). At first i thought it was because it hadn't been run in a week because of being transported. when it stalled I would get a strong smell of gasoline. i took it to my husbands garage, his coworkers looked at it, and said to get a diagnostic test run, so I did, which indicated a misfire in cylinder 6, so we replaced the spark plugs and wires. But that did nothing for the problem, so I took it to the Buick dealership, they said it sounded like the TCC was staying engaged, thus causing it to stall out. One night i parked my car on the road which got flooded, now not only does it stall out more often, it also makes a loud metal rattling noise when it is in park, and it shakes and makes high pitched noises(not when braking but constantly). what kind of damage could i have gotten from the flooding? what could be causing the strange noises? or the stalling out?
