Hi there - the car quit while driving. AAA said it was the alternator. We have replaced the alternator, and tried to jump start the car. It will still not turn on. Before dying, the ABS light was on when the car was running. The radio was stolen, and in the process the dashboard was pulled away. Since then the ABS light has stayed on. The car ran for about 1 and 1/2 years after that. Any suggestions as to why it will not start? The lights inside the car turn on fine. I believe the battery is fully charged.
Thanks.

Do you think the security system might be causing an issue? Your saying the starter won't crank? You need to be sure the battery has a full charge. Use a digital multimeter, everything turned off, the generic spec for a full charged battery is 12.6 volts. Make sure the battery connections are all clean and tight. The purple wire at the starter solenoid, is it hot with the key in the crank position? Any testing, make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set.
