I replace the Alternator on this car 1 month ago. Eveything work fine until last week. It began giving symptom like the alternator is bad again. Ticking sound when I tried to start the car. The car starts with not problem while getting a jump from another vehicle. However when I try to drive any distance it cuts off as if the battery is not staying charge. When I get a jump. It stats and run great for a while but again it seem the battery is not staying charge. Today I had the battery checked/charge and installed a new alternator. The car started and ran good. I cut it off for about an hour. Went out and attempted to start it up. Same problem. What else can this be? More info about the model of this vehicle. Its a 3.8 liter Turbo fuel injected G/N

Hello,

You said you replaced Alternator ran it for a while and it done fine. Was that the only run you done with it? if so have you check to see if there is a draw on the battery. Check the link below for instruction on testing for a draw.

I had this problem and it was the positive battery cable shorting out internally. Once I replaced it all good.
