I bought the car used a year ago. Had to fix fly wheele (it broke), oil pan and sensor, intake manifold gasket, along with head, replaced the radiator, the air flow sensor three times. Now it missfires, and was told I need a complete tune-up. I agree! The bum who sold me the car ($5000.00 by the way) omitted to tell me the car had issues. Shame on me I should have had someone check the car more thouroughlly! Anyway, It's been a money pit (About as much as I paid for it!). Do I tune it up replace chocks/struts, and engine mounts (they are bad too), or junk it and get what I can for it? If I can fix it and own it trouble free for about 2 years, I might be able to break even. What do you think?-I have school loans to repay, and cannot afford anything new or newer. At this rate, I can't afford my Buick.

I think it's time for a new shop.

A misfire is not likely due to a tune up. Not saying it isn't possible, but have a decent shop diagnose it. I have yet to have to replace an oil pan on one of those. There are some strange things here.

Some shops like to SELL shocks/ Struts. Tell me,
How is the ride? Would you say it is stiff, okay or bouncy?

Plan on spending about 13 cents for every mile you drive. Repairs and maintnenance are part of driving.

I also have yet to replace engine mounts on these.

I would recomend talking to someone that has had the same shop for at least 5-6 years and ask them to refer you.

Get the misfire diagnosed.
