Easy one (rookie here, saving money due to economy) - how do I change the oil in the car?

Hi:
there is not much to it. Drain the oil from the oil pan drain plug. When empty, replace the plug securely (I think it's a 14mm). Next locate the oil filter. I believe yours is in the front of the engine. Using an oil filter wrench, loosten the filter and remove it (making sure the gasket comes off with it). Take the new filter and place a thin coat of oil on the new gasket and replace the filter. Make it as tight as you can by hand, then give it a 1/4 turn with the wrench. Now refill the oil from the top of the engine. I believe it will hold 4 1/2 quarts, but start with 4, start the engine and allow oil pressure to build (about 20 seconds) shut the engine and check the level and fill as needed to full mark.

Let me know if you have questions.

Joe
