1996 Buick Park Avenue V6 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 53,000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
In a parking lot moving forward at idle speed the car, which has been well cared for, just quit. Let it sit. Started fine. After 30 seconds, quit again. Started fine and drove it 5 miles home. I might have heard a whirring sound from the rear. I suspect a fuel pump malfunction. Make sense? Any help much appreciated. A great car otherwise.

Hi there,

It could very well be a fuel pump issue, trouble is there is no real test apart from Pressure & flow. If these are ok, change filter, and if problem returns fit new pump.
