Electrical problem
1994 Buick Park Avenue 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

OK, for a while the car would run great some days and then die and just not run for a week or two. Now however the fuel pump wont even come on (I know fuel pump wont come on because you can prime it and it will start for a few seconds), the windows wont move (they are electric) and also the dinging bell stays on constantly if the door is open (like the key is in the ignition or the lights are on). The buick did stay parked for a few weeks hoping that it would start again like it always has in the past, but it has only gone downhill. I love this car but can't afford to put it in the shop. thanks

Check for applicable trouble codes. Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Some of the national brand autostores used to loan out a fuel pressure gage. There is a fuel pump test connector, passenger side front of vehicle, around battery, red wire with electrical connector, nothing plugged into it. If you use a jumper wire with inline fuse, one end goes to battery B+ the other end goes to connector, the pump should run, no need to use the key. If it still won't run, check for voltage and ground at the pump connector. Gray wire is voltage for pump motor, black is ground. If good voltage and ground with no pump action, suspect the pump.
