well to tell you the truth i dont really know much about about cars but the problem with mine is that
there is a knocking sound in the engine whenever i start it up but when im on the road it sound fine it's just that when the engine idle's it make that sound

Actually the sound is still there, but since the engine parts are running at higher rpms, the sound is "muffled".

You may want to have someone to check your lifters and valves. A lot of time, either they are sticking or just out of adjustment.

The harmonic balancers are notorious for causing the noise you describe. I replaced mine (it was LOUD) and it solved the noise problem.
