I have taken my car to the dealership, they told me I need a new powertrain control module and a new ignition module. My first question is where is the powertrain control module located and is it the same as an engine control module? And secondly where would I find the ignition control module and is their a procedure for replacing these components? Engine is a 3800 V6

PCM /ECM located inside the car under dash passenger side under dash towards the firewall
no special programming needed for replacing it
if you are buying remanufacture or new one then u have to remove the chip from the old one and put it in the new ECM (instruction should be on it)
ignition module is located under the coil pack under the hood
you need to remove the coil s and then module
always make sure you have disconnected the negative side of the battery before any work
good luck
