I have a 2007 lucerne. For the last 3 months, the car has been in the shop because the air doesn't work.
The compressor has been changed 3 times.
there is always debre in the lines that has to be cleaned.
Now they have to replace the accumulator or cumulator and the TXV which is a major job. It will be a week again, before I get it back. Been in the shop for the last 2 months every other week.
How serious is this? Should I keep the car?

I would venture to say that the first compressor that went out must have really had a major break-down. All the metal went through the system and that is what keeps pluging up that orifice tube. Chances are that several componets will have to be replaced in order to get all that stuff out of the system.I have not seen hardly any problems out the A/C systems on the Lucerne. They really are good cars.
