2000 Buick Lesabre chugs and dies

150,000 MILES • 6 CYL • FWD • AUTOMATIC

car chugs and dies while driving around town. highway does better, still some chugging. engine light came on one time, however went out before i could get to repair shop!

have repaired the following:
new spark plugs
one new sensor (don't remember name $35.00)
new air filter
intake manifold
new head gasket (no damage done to heads)

a friend of family repaired the above for $700.00
I can not afford this guessing game! None of the above was the problem.
please help

Inspect and test all the following listed below:

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.
