When I start my car I have excellent oil pressure. As the car warms up the oil pressure starts to drop and eventually does into the RED.

The car then acts as though it is overheated and is hard to start until it cools off. The temperature gauge never gets out of normal safe operating range.

I have used synthetic oil in it for several years. What do I need to repair/ Thanh you and God bless, Jake.

Low oil pressure is caused by one of two things, either a weak oil pump, or a worn engine. The pump can be replaced, if it's engine parts, try a heavier oil, like S.A.E. 30. GM's have a saftey built in when oil pressure is low, car wont start, or will shut off.

Always use a delco filter pf47. I would replace the oil pressure sensor. If that doesn't do, you may need to clean the oil pick-up screen in the bottom of the oil pan. Use 10w30 also
