My wife was driving our 98 Buick said it made a loud pop and the brakes wouldn't work. Pedal wouldn't press down. When I got to her, I found the vacuum line on booster had came off. Replaced it. Car started fine but quickly started making noise from lifters. Oil filter gasket blew out, pumping all the oil out. Replaced with new one. Started car and it immediately blew out new oil filter seal. Oil filters are the correct ones. Are these two problems related? Haven't been able to check brakes because of oil problem.

Hi
it almost sounds like there is a restriction in the vacuum system, a restriction would cause the symptoms you have, try pulling the booster line off, check for vacuum and try blocking it by hand to see if you have a different result also check the pcv valve, to see if it is pulling vacuum

let me know
