My car wants to stop when putting the breaks on, mainly at stop lights and sometimes going down the road. It is also making a knocking sound. what could be wrong.

Do you have a check engine light or has flashed?

Last major tune-up and what was replaced and adjusted

Try cleaning out the throttle body/ check the idle air control valve/EGR system and the throttle position sensor.
