I have a 2005 Buick Lacrosse that keeps cutting out on me. Recently it quit running completely and after 4 tries it restarted. It has been to a garage a few times and they told me to put dry gas in the car. I was wondering if this could be the fuel filter? I know they are an in tank filter and they are nonservicable. Does this mean that the fuel filter should never have to be changed? Any ideas, I am tired of the run around from the dealer. Thanks, Brian.

It could be the filter. Have you checked fuel pump pressure to see if it is low? Also, yes it can be serviced / replaced. Finally, has the check engine light come on?

Let me know.
