Engine Performance problem
2002 Buick Century 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 160k miles

2002 Buick Centry...The car will not exceed 40 mph, and runs really rough. The fuel filter has been changed and the spark plugs have also been changed. Car struggles just to go. Have not had it hooked up to a diagnosic machine yet. Cant really drive it far bc of the speed and I live 40 miles to the closest repair shop.

Did you have a check engine light on prior to this problem and when was your last tune-up?

Inspect and test all the following listed below:

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.
