Engine Performance problem
1991 Buick Century 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

As long as I am driving, the car is fine, when I slow down using the brakes, or for a traffic light, the car kills. It will restart but when I put it in gear to drive, it kills again. I been told several things could be wrong, catalytic converter, bad head, thermostat.
Please help.

Try disconnecting the transmission torque converter clutch solenoid and see what happens-don't work clean out the idle air control valve and the EGR and PCV valves and test the throttle position sensor.
