Intermittent brake lights not working

SUV is the Eddie Bauer edition. When I apply pressure to the brake pedal brake lights come on sometimes.

Good morning,

Most of the time it is the actual stop light switch that is the issue.

I attached the part and the procedure for replacing it as well.

BRAKE PEDAL POSITION (BPP) SWITCH

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

2. Remove the BPP switch.
1 Disconnect the electrical connector.
2 Remove the self-locking pin and the BPP switch.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
