2001 x5 4.4 - saw that car suspension was not level; drivers side was stooped very low and passenger side had a very clear and measurable height difference between tire and fender.
Unlocked car and immediately heard a sound (which I believe was the self adjusting suspension) and suspension was level again without even me starting the car.
Put key in ignition (all starter lights and interior lights come one) - when I tried to start the car would not crank? What do you think happened?

From the description it could be a dead battery. The self leveling has a leak somewhere.

Thanks - discovered how battery died. The blower resister was faulty i.E. Kept the blower on and eventually killed the battery.
The self-adjusting suspension air bag has a leak. Car now continues to stoop on driver side. Sometimes it levels up. How expensive is this repair. Is there a cheaper alternative to fix the leak? Or replace the bags (is that correct)?

The final stage unit is certainly able to do that. Replace the bag(s) with new, don't try to set the weight of the vehicle on the bags when they are not inflated, they will be damaged. Be sure to order them by the VIN, they are specific.
