Electrical problem
2001 BMW X5 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Having a problem with my x5, when I take keys out of the ignition the heating fans keep going on and of by itself, if I leave it the battery goes flat, so I have to take out the 50amp fuse for the blowers everytime I park, has anyone got any suggestions for me please.

The fan motor is itself controlled by the final stage unit. The part number for the unit in the link is #3.
Replacement of this module is most often the cure for your problem. To verify the final stage is faulty, just touch it, if it's dissipating enough current to kill the battery, it will be warm. It is in the right footwell area, behind the carpet trim, I believe a screw and clips retain the trim.
