Electrical problem
2001 BMW 740 V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 59000 miles

My car battery died - I accidentally left the key in the ignition overnight! I had AAA jump start it, and it worked. Only now, my instrument panel does not work at all - no odometer, spedometer, gas gauge, etc. And I cannot set the onboard computer to register the date and time or set it to miles vs. Km, etc. Is this a fuse problem? Is there a reset switch/button? Any suggestions? Thanks.

The sensitivity of the electronics in these cars does not take kindly to being jump started. There are probably some fried electronics in there. Next time you kill the battery, take it out of the car, charge it, and then reinstall. In order to find out exactly what is wrong, I recommend seeking local professional assistance.
