HOW DO YOU GET RID OF THE TRANS. FAILSAFE PROG MESSAGE ON THE CONTROL PANEL OF A 98 740IL BMW? THANK YOU RICHARD

There is a fault set in the EGS (electronic transmission control) and it must be extracted with either the proprietary BMW software or autologic to determine what the fault is and to direct the diagnostic/repair. It may be something as simple as the need for the software to be upgraded or a sensor fault.
