1996 BMW 740 anti freeze smell when heater is on

Only when I use the defrost, I smell anti-freeze coming out of the vents, the car has a new water pump and thermostat, hoses, and belts. No leaks of any kind detected. Thank you

Hi there,

I would have the cooling system pressure tested hot with the heater on, as I feel that with the smell of coolant in the cabin, you may well have a small leak in the heater core, best to check this out.
