2004 BMW 530i Catalytic Converter Engine Malfuntion light c

2004 BMW 530i 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 120000 miles
My car started shaking and the catalytic converter light came on the dash saying to drive moderately due to engine malfunction.
What should i do and how much will this type of repair costs (approx)

I just got the same warning light on my 2004 530i. Did you get your car repaired? What was the problem and what did it cost you.
