My 1991 BMW 525i w/150K miles on it just started overheating when I drive it at speeds greater than 60 miles per hour. The needle moves into the red zone on the temp guage, and the hazard message "coolant temperature overheating" appears on my dashboard. Note it does not overhear at speeds below 60 mph, and the needle is in the middle between the blue and red zones on the guage at these below 60 mph speeds. I haven't had any work done on my car for a couple of years, and only add modest amounts of coolant once a year. My coolant has not been replaced for about 5 years. Any help appreciated!
