Engine Cooling problem
2004 BMW 330 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 104081 miles

Took the car in for a smog and oil change about 3 months ago. The car failed the smog due to the "service engine soon" light. I highly doubt the oil was changed and the temp sensor was reading in C Not F. After this trip to the scam mechanics. Also the heat didnt work and they tell me the engine was running cold. Today I get in the car and it won't start. The light and stereo everything work. But the car makes no attempt to turn over. Nothing. Trioed to jump it. Nothing! Any ideas? The car has sat in the 112 degree Las Vegas heat since I last drove it. Could it simple be to hot to start?

First, I do not recommend jumping BMW cars due to the sensitive nature of the electronics in the power train control modules. The no-start condition may be due to a dead battery or perhaps the drive-away protection circuitry has somehow lost alignment. So 1st look at the battery, is it the original? If so I would replace it due to age, BTW there is a date stamped into the + post to tell the week and year of manufacture. The other issue (alignment of EWS) will require a trip to some one with the proprietary BMW software or with Autologic. The aforementioned equipment is going to be able to diagnose any issues and if realignment is needed, it can do that too. I get that the dealer level is a risk that few want to take on, calling around in your city to the BMW repair facilities in say the yellow pages might be a place to start to find someone that you can be OK with, good luck mate à â Â
