Ive ran into many problems with my BMW, the main one being overheating. I have put $1200 into the cooling system alone and still experience overheating problems. Replaced radiator, hoses, and drain plug but still haven't corrected the problem. I have a leak but it is under the middle of the car and my mechanic said it was probably from the air conditioning even though I have not been using it. I feel like I have been scammed by these mechanics that I have gone to. I just need some good suggestions on what else could be the issue causing this continuous overheating of my car. ANY ANSWERS!

If the overheating was severe enough, it could have compromised the cylinder head casting. Have an overnight pressure test with the sparkplugs out and see if coolant is finding it's way into the combustion chambers.

Thanks for the advice, I think getting the pressure test will help detect the problem but would else could be the problem if my coolant leaking out as soon as I drive the car?

The leak under your car may be coolant coming out of the heater core. I haven't worked on an E46 (your style of car) heater before but all the other BMWs I have worked on have had a drip pan that feeds a hose that runs down alongside of the transmission. For 50 bucks you can buy an adapter that will allow your car to be tested with the standard pressure tester that Autozone loans out. Look for the adapter on ebay. I think the manufacturer is Assenmacher.

Good luck.
