Engine Performance problem
1993 BMW 325 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

all the elecricals are working fine on the car, central locking, radio lights etc. But the car wont start, its turning over but seems to have no power to boost it, we tried jump leads to start it as we thought the battery was dead, it seemed like it wanted to go at one point then just didnt want to at all, could this be the spark plugs or is there any other problem it could be. Thanks for the help.

So you have a crank no start concern? If this is the case I would begin by checking to see if you have fuel pressure. The pressure should be around 40 to 50 psi. If fuel pressure is good then remove the spark plugs and make sure you are getting spark. Its not often that bad spark plugs will cause a vehicle not to start. Normally one spark plug will go bad and cause a miss

Thank u, the fuel pressure is fine, we took out the spark plugs and they were covered in oil, we cleaned it all up and put it all back together, we tried to start the car again and there was a pop came from the engine and a bit of smoke, it seems though it wants to start but then went as if the battery was drained. Thanks for the help I have no clue about engines. A few people has said about the immobiliser could maybe stop it, is that true?

The immobilizer normally functions by controlling the spark. If you have good spark, and good fuel pressure. I would being a compression test on all the cylinders
