my tempature gauge goes hot a a stop light then it goes back down to normal when i drive. how can i fix this

Your fan clutch is probably bad. I check mine by sticking my finger in it from behind. If I can easily stop the fan when it's idling, I replace the clutch. You should probably try it with a popsicle stick.
