when you try to start this car when you turn the key it cranks for a little bit then when it fires if you dont get it started right then it wont fire for hours but if it does start it runs fine it does the same thing whether you have the gas pedal to the floor or not touching it at all

What is the maintenance history? Has the car been serviced at regular intervals?

i got this car from the third owner it was alway maintained but just before i got it it overheated they ha d the head resurfaced and new head gasket installed howevr they couldnt get it to start .i had it towed to my house charged the battery and it started now its hit or miss but when it does run it runs quite well, smooth you can punch it at 60 and it jumps up and goes quite well when it wont start it has spark and you can smell gas but it wont fire it will pop a bit but that is it

Check the connector that powers the fuel injector harness that is under the intake manifold for corrosion.
