Shakes or Wobbles problem
2003 BMW 320 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

The vertical steering link on the off side came adrift after braking sharply some weeks ago. Ihad not noticed this for a week or two. I then noticed the wobble in the steering wheel at about 40 mph. On inspection I noticed the broken link and had it replaced. At the same time I had a new tyre put on the near side front, the both wheels were balanced and the alignment checked. The wobble still occurs between 30 & 40 mph. Could you please advise me how to resolve this problem.

Many thanks

The sway bar links, are a vital part of your vehicle where it connects to the sway bar which redistributes forces of one side of the vehicle to the other. The absolute worst case scenario is that whoever installed that part didn't install it correctly and is causing your vehicle to drive crooked, or an alignment wasn't really done.

Another thing that would be related to the wobblyness is unbalanced wheels, bad tires, etc. I suggest you bring it to a front end alignment shop where they would have more experience in this issue and they can get right into it and inspect your front end suspension. If you recently had an inspection done, then that inspection should of caught what the problem is.
