Could anybody explain what the amber oil can warning light refers to. This light appers for about 15 seconds after starting the engine. The engine has no leaks and has recently had a oil change. There is also a problem with engine stalling on or around idle speed when engine is first started, once engine is warm no problem or perceived

The thermal oil level sensor is setting the yellow oil can on, ignore it. The stalling is possibly due to a tear in the air boot from the air mass to the throttle body. #14 in this link for the oil level sensor: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=AV13&mospid=47717&btnr=11_2187&hg=11&fg=10
