Hello forum, I have a 98 318ti 192,000 miles on it and i just got a check engine light lit up and scanned it. The code that came up is:
P1174 Fuel Trim Adaptation Additve Bank 1 Malfunction

Do you know where I need to look in the engine to troubleshoot this? I know its within the fuel realm but need to know where bank 1 locations are. I want to get this repaired so I can pass smog in December.

Thanks.

the 318 can be a challenging car to smog.
first thing I would try is to clear the faults and reset adaptations. then see if your monitors run to completion.
this sounds like a possible "problem child"
repost and keep me in the loop
