1998 BMW 318 overheating

Hi, my bmw has a over heating problem,first of all the heater stopped producing any heat, so i changed the thermostat, that did'nt work, i have flushed out the radiator and there's no apperent leaks anywhere, the oil is clean, when i run the engine up to temperature the water blows out of the header tank, any idea's? thanks

Was all the air out of the system?

Sounds like you got an air pocket in the system. BMW's are a PITA to get air out. Best way that I have found is leaving the reservoir cap on with it topped off with coolant. Run the car until it gets 3/4 hot then shut it off. Open the bleeder screw to get all the steam out then top off the coolant again. Keep doing this until it gets the air out.
