I have very little knowledge about cars but want to learn about my beamer in order to get it back to peak condition. To give a little background, I know right now that it has an oil leak and one of the control arms needs to be replaced, so those need attention first, any help and suggestions? Please break it down to idiot proof including any tools that I will need. Also, any advice on where to go after fixing these two things to get my car back to factory condition or better. I need to do everything from a complete tune up and cleaning under the hood to painting and detailing the interior. Any and all help will be much appreciate. Also, if you know any tricks that will help me to save money, ie repairing parts rather than getting new ones, that would be great too, since I am low on funds right now.

Thank you all for any help that you offer and I will let you know how things progress as I start working.

The oil leak will need to be pinpointed so that we can talk about repairing it, clean the area and find the leak and we can go from there. The internet has much to offer you for your car, try the message boards and chat it up. Realoem. Com can get you the exploded views you may need and Autobahn dismantlers can be a source for replacement parts, call (619)444-2290 and talk to John or Sean.
