My battery is overcharging when I turn on the car the gauge show battery overcharging. I checked the fuses, battery, generator, voltage regulator, the ground, and the wire running from the key switch to the voltage regulator all turn out ok and was looking at a video on YouTube that show you how to check your charging system and that overcharging can be caused by a field wire exposed to or a open contact with a A+ or battery wire in the harness can I bypass the harness where the wires are contacting each other and somehow connect the voltage regulator straight to the generator would that work.

I don't think that would do it, to me it sounds like the voltage regulator is burned out and needs to be replaced, I would also check to make sure the regulator is well grounded, here is the location and the charging system wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what you find.

I purchased a brand-new voltage regulator and it was still overcharging then I took the voltage regulator back to have it checked he said the voltage regulator checked out fined, I also took off my generator and had it checked he said it checked out okay there was nothing wrong with it.

Let's put a voltmeter on it to confirm the charging voltage. It could be the battery is going bad.
