Both batteries are newer than 1 year. When the car is turned off, the speaker still makes popping and banging noises. This drains the battery overnight. After a jump start the car runs great. There is a p0641 code.

Hi,

The code indicates an internal fault or open circuit related to the Motor Electronics module. If this is the only code present, then here is what you need to do:

Have the code cleared and see if it returns. This type of code (if still present) should show up right away after starting the engine. If it does show up, the ME control module will need to be replaced.

The ME module is located under the hood near the air box. It will be aluminum in construction. Note: If replaced, make sure to retrieve coding information from the original one prior to removal.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe
