I have the vehicle listed above with 1KR engine and a 5 speed automatic transmission. Recently, the car just stopped shifting into second, third and fourth gears after a sudden jerk on the transmission as I was driving. There were check engine light and O/D lights on the dashboard and a P0715 DTC was retrieved. My mechanic tried replacing the input/turbine speed sensor but there was no success. He concluded the gearbox was 'dead'. I have replaced the whole gearbox unit but the problem persists. The mechanic claims the new transmission is still faulty.
Kindly advise me on what to do.

Hello,
Could you double check the year, make, and model of your vehicle again, as well as the Direct Trouble Code (DTC) number for us, please?Toyota Paseos were only manufactured from 1991 to 1999 and I show no DTC listing for DTC P0715. Please let us know so we can look up the correct information to help you out.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello,

After a lot of looking, I cannot find any information in either one of reference materials for your vehicle or anything similar, nor can I find DTC P0715 in any Toyota model that is in our reference guides. I did find out that your vehicle is manufactured by Diahatsu and is called a Boon, but, unfortunately, we don't have any material on Diahatsu's either.

Thanks,
Alex
