Engine Cooling problem
1993 Audi 100 6 cyl

My bf's car is overheating in the morning when he first drives it. The radiator is full when he starts out but once it overheats and he stops it takes a full 2L's of fliuid. They have tried everything they can think of. It's not the thermostat or the fan.

Once he fills it up after it overheats it runs good for the rest of the day until the next day when it does it all over again.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Audi's have a history of problems with the radiators in high milage vehicles. With the engine warm, shut it off and feel the radiator for cool or cold spots. If you find any, replace the radiator, it's blocked. Another item is the cooling fan motors, these should be checked and if necessary, replaced.
