Alternator connections

One wire came off the alternator when I was replacing it with a new alternator. There were two wires connected and the one that had broken off was only 7.5 cms long and I don't know where this wire should be connected.

Unfortunately we don't have a manual on this vehicle as it is not offered here in the USA. However, here is a guide that will help with replacing this:

If this doesn't give the detail that you need, can you get a picture of the alternator and the wire that you are looking to connect and we can figure out where it goes? More then likely it is a signal wire but they are normally a little longer then that so it would be interesting to see it.
