I have a general question and was looking for the best place to post it. Please feel free to move this if you have a better place.

How old can oil filters be before using them becomes a concern. I found a really good ebay deal on some OEM filters that are three years old and wondering if they are too old to consider?

Really the only thaing that would have a shelf life. Assuming they were not subjected to moisture would be the gasket. I always coat the gasket with oil before installing anyways. With them being that old maybe lube both sides of it.

But I'm gonna out bid you!
