I'd look at the fuel filter.
What year, make, model, engine, and mileage?

Its a SEAT Cordoba 1994 130,000 miles ish. 1800cc engine inleaded petrol. I looked at the carb. thinking it could of dragged some rubbish off the bottom of the tank but it looks nice and clean, plus I added some REDEX petrol additive which cleans injectors and improves engine performance and petrol consumption.[/quote:ffade73e6d]

Not familiar with your model. The fuel injector cleaner is a good idea. I would still replace the fuel filter if it is old.

When you turn the key to the on position do you hear the fuel pump buzz for a few seconds?

Good luck.
