Hi, I have a 97 f150 4.6L 4x4 manual. now here is my question. I was driving home with the heater on and everything was fine when all of a sudden I smelt oil coming from the vents, temp gauge dropped all the way down then spiked a few seconds later. I shut the engine off and coasted off the freeway. waited 30 seconds and fired it back up and the temp gauge was normal but coolant overflowed when I got home <4 blocks away>. i have oil in the radiator, this I know and there is bubbles in the radiator, probably head gasket or cracked head but why did it overheat!?! Oil in the coolant wouldn;t have done that would it? I have no coolant on my dipstick by the way.
thank you.
