Hi, my car is auto and has a 1.6 DOHC engine. When I start the car, the engine starts idles at about 2,200 rpm after about 30 secs it will start constantly revving from 1,500 rpm to 2,000 rpm, up and down for the next two minutes until again it idles at about 1,800 rpm and then slowly idle down to about 700rpm after about another 2mins. I was just wondering why my integra does this? This lengthy warm up period is time consuming and also consuming my fuel. Is their any way I could rectify this?
Thanks

I call this a surge. Yours only occurs during the warm up and not once the vehicle is warm. Air in the cooling system can cause this. Did a check engine light come on. A bad idle air control can also be the culprit. A faulty map sensor can cause this as well.
