How to stop a 1968 chevelle from over-heating and the thermostat is brand new set at 160 degrees F and is running at 212 degrees F. The radiator is stock but the engine was re-built and bored .030" 0ver and an RV cam was put in. The engine is a 327/250hp. How do I fix it and would a fan-shroud make that much of a diffrence.

the fan shroud channels are to run through the radiator and cools the radiator, with the engine cool, start the engine with the radiator cap off and watch the radiator for coolant flow, does it happen when you are just running it or when under load? the radiator could be clogged. flush the system to get clean it out. you should get a shroud on the engine .
