Hello, I have a 1987 Mercedes Benz 300TD with 232,000 miles on it. This is a 6 cylinder diesel. The car starts and runs fine, except when the fuel tank has less than a quarter tank, I experience a loss of power, like the engine is not getting enough fuel. Fill the tank and the car works fine. The injectors and fuel lines are clear and filters new. Do you know what is causing this?

I know exactly what's causing it, I have the same problem with my Mercedes, it's got a bad sending unit in the fuel tank, my fuel gauge jumps from 1/2 to 1/4 all the time then my low fuel light comes on, when I have a 1/4 of a tank, but my low fuel light is pretty accurate, when it comes on I stop and get fuel it doesn't matter what the Gage says.
