I just had a complete new (not recond) clutch installed. The clutch engages right off the floor. I understand there is no adjustment. The truck has a 4.3 V6. THe slave cyl. Was not leaking and the mechanic bleed the system thoroghly. What do I need to check for now. Thanks, Mark in Texas

Hi.
There are alot of things it could be, you mechanic shoulnt have let you leave that way, if he had the flywheel cut they may have cut too much or it wasnt cut at all, there still could be air in the system, or you could have a faulty pressure plate (weak or too stiff fingers),
you paid good money im sure to have the work done and are entitled to a working vehicle, my suggestion would be to take it back, have him pay for a rental until it gets fixed right, any shop with a reputation would step up to the plate

thanks
jim

The mechanic made it right. It turned out that the master cylinder was bad. Thanks, for your input.
